Featured: The One week to go Check List
This week I thought I would tackle something that has been on my blog list for a while but never seems to have made it to the top of the pile. There are lots and lots of posts out there in blog land telling you all about how to plan your wedding from the moment you get engaged but very little focuses on those last minute things the things you need to arrange in that last week so I thought I would make a quick One week to go Check List of these things for you all 🙂
1 Confirm your final FINAL! numbers with your venue and caterers
This will be your last chance to let your venue know of any changes to your guest list, or if there are any sudden changes with the menus suddenly cousin Ruth has decided she is a vegetarian and now doesn’t want the steak etc. 🙂
2 Confirm all the timings with your suppliers
You will have planned out your schedule beforehand probably with your photographer and venue but this is a good time to double check your other suppliers such as what time will your florist be at your house/Church/ Venue to set up and when they can collect anything they have provided after the wedding? what time will the hair and make up actually be arriving at your house or what time do you need to be at the salon?
3 Have your final Hair, Nail and Tanning appointments
All the best bridal magazines suggest that you shouldn’t get anything done to your hair less than 2 weeks before your big day, but what if like me your hair is shall we say, a significantly different colour to your natural shade and again like me, GROWS LIKE A WEED! I’m going to say now, I’m gonna be dying my hair no more than 2 days before my wedding or I can guarantee I will have roots showing on my big day! so if you are like me, get all your pre-wedding colours/highlights done a quick trim of the fringe etc. Also this is a good time to check your man is property groomed too make sure he has his hair appointments sorted out :).
Get your tan done a few days before to give it time to settle before you put on your dress. no one wants to get tan all over their lovely white wedding dress now do they.
A lot of people now are getting their nails done ready for your album worthy hand ring shots. its an excuse to pamper yourself after all 🙂
4 Confirm any travel details fill in any immigration forms you need to.
hopefully if you are travelling somewhere that you need jabs for this has all been taken care of but there are some things you can arrange, a lot of transatlantic or trans European Flights will let you check in a few days before, get this sorted before your big day if you are heading away for you honeymoon straight from your wedding. also if you are flying to the USA then there will be immigration forms that need to be completed.
5 Pack your overnight bag and make a list of things that need to go in it in the morning of your wedding.
Get this done early, that way you have time to double, triple check it before it goes off to your wedding venue 🙂 Remember there will be things that you will need on the morning of your wedding that will need to be packed then, such as your contact lenses if you wear them or any daily medication. This is a great example of a list we say at a brides house one morning of her last minute list.
Remember to take some time to yourself and relax with your girls before you big day!
