Rural Chic Letterkenny & Ramelton Wedding: Megan & Lee
Megan and Lee held their wedding in their home town of Letterkenny last month. They held their Ceremony at St Eunan’s Cathedral and their reception at the Clanree Hotel in the town. We started the day off with Megan and her ladies at Megan’s parents home just a short drive from the hotel we got some fantastic shots of her Kenneth Winston dress that she got form the lovey girls at Elite Brides Letterkenny and of her bridesmaids dresses. The girls had already had their hair and makeup done by Shannon Dolan Hairdressing before we arrived and they all looked absolutely stunning. We cracked on with the the other detail shots while everyone had a glass of champers and relaxed before the cars arrived. We got some lovely shots of Megan with her vintage mirror gift from Lee. Didn’t he do well there ladies!
We nipped outside to their back garden to get the shots of the flowers when they arrived which were stunning and provided by Alcorns of Letterkenny really matched with the colour scheme that Megan and Lee had chosen. We got some quick shots of everyone together before it was time to head off to the cathedral and meet up with Lee and his lads.
We arrived at the Cathedral with plenty of time, So much time in fact that we caught the last of the people still leaving from the 1st communion mass which had been held that morning, we nipped inside and got some detail shots of the pew ends and of the other details within the cathedral before Lee and his lads arrived. Funny story but we had never actually met Lee, Megan had booked us at a wedding fayre in Belfast that she had come along to with her mum and bridesmaids, we had asked Megan to show us a photo of Lee at the house in the morning so we would know who to look out for. 🙂 Just as the boys arrive the heavens opened so we dashed out quickly with the lads and then back to the porch.
Soon Enough the ladies arrived expertly driven by the lads from Legends wedding vehicle hire thankfully the rain had stopped by the time the ladies arrived so we were able to get some shots of the girls at the cars and before they went in. I just love Megan’s choice of different colour dresses the bridesmaids look fab in them. Megan wasn’t far behind the bridesmaids so we were able to get some shots with her and her dad in the car before the ceremony began.
The Ceremony got underway and the mass was performed by Father James Gillespie, it was a lovely service and for us we managed to get a few cheeky looks from the couple before it was time to head in and sign the register.
Following the ceremony the couple were met outside by their Fur baby bubba the dog looking his finest in his bow tie! Megan and Lee had a receiving line out of the church and following that as the sun had come out the bridal party all jumped into the cars and we headed off down the road to the picturesque village or Ramlton just a short drive out of Letterkenny.
We arrived at the quay side and got these great shots of the couple and of the whole bridal party! these are some of my favourite shots of the day with the whole team up on the steps. We then all jumped back in the cars and headed around to the waterfall where the boys had ingeniously been up earlier in the morning and laid out planks over the muddy parts so they wouldn’t get their shoes or dresses dirty! Well done lads! we got these super shots of the guys in the forest before we headed back to the cars and got Graham’s favourite shot of Megan from the whole day which you might have seen yesterday on Facebook 😉
We arrived back at the Clanree hotel with just enough time to get some detail shots of the room and our “fake” cake shot as we weren’t staying until the real cake cutting. We then headed out and got the family photos before they room was opened to guests and everyone headed in for dinner.
Once everyone was in the room the bridal party and the couple were brought into the room. The hotel staff were fantastic and like a well oiled machine, for us it was great to see such a slick operation as not everywhere is as good as this! Once everyone was in the speeches began. They were heart felt and funny. following the speeches we hit the road and left the wedding party to tuck into their dinner.
