Vintage Rainbow Summertime Dromore Wedding: Naomi & Glenn
It was a lovely sunny day back in May when we headed to the countryside near Banbridge to meet up with Naomi, her family, her dog Molly and her bridesmaids: chief of which, is the lovely Rebecca, who’s wedding we also have the privilege of photographing later this year. Naomi and Rebecca are two brides we wont forget in a hurry either, after they both booked us together at the Kings Hall wedding show – making our day! Enough of that anyway – back to the story 🙂
PS: Check out all Naomi & Glenn’s suppliers at the bottom of the post…
We arrived at the house to be greeted by Naomi’s dad and the lovely Molly the dog, Naomi and the girls were all still at the hair dressers, so we got started with the detail shots, BTW: Dont you just love Naomi’s dress?! Hannah was over the moon when we arrived and saw all the short 50’s style dresses. They are her absolute favorate and although she wont confrim I have a sneeking suspicion her wedding dress may well be like this.
Naomi and the girls weren’t long and we set about getting some casual shots of them while they got ready including these crackers…
It was soon time for us to head off to Dromore Elim Church and to meet up with Glenn and the boys, We headed off into the town wit them to get some quick shots before having to dash back as the heavens opened.
The Girls weren’t long behind is and thankfully the weather began to clear up just as they arrived. so we managed to get some shots of them before heading in for the service.
It meant a lot to both Naomi and Glenn to get married here at Dromore Elim Church, as they both are a big part of the community there. It was a really touching service perfomoed by their own minister and included prayers from their friends.
Following the service we headed back out around Dromore itself to get some quick shots with the rest of the bridal party before setting off on our way to La Mon Hotel and Country Club for the reception.
When we arrived we headed straight out with the couple, not being one to stick to the beaten track we headed off to the bridge and then around to the back of the hotel where we found these great stone steps, a beautiful rustic hay bail and (my all time favourite) a shipping container. Staff at the hotel did look a bit surprised to see the bride and groom and photographer out the back of the hotel rather than around the beautiful gardens at the front… but I think it was worth it! Naomi and Glenn were fantastic and didn’t look a bit worried even when i asked them to lean againt the container which to be honest isn’t something most people expect to do on their wedding day.
We headed back around the front and got a great shot of Naomi on the grass before heading in for family pictures.
Soon enough it was time for dinner and for us to head home, but not before the speeches (oh and photographing the boys’ socks!).
