Countryside Millbrook Lodge Wedding: Rachael & Brent
Rachael and Brent chose to marry Just a stones throw from where they live in Ballynahinch, they chose to have their ceremony at St Patricks Church and then headed just down the road to the Millbrook lodge hotel for their reception. Their wedding is full of international guests including the groom and lots of little details.
We stated the day with Rachael and her ladies at he parents home in Ballynahinch getting some fantastic shots of her dress which was from Cathedrals gowns in Downpatrick
it was soon time to head off to the Church to meet up with Brent and his truly international family, Brent originally from Africa moved to Belfast to become a chef, while is brother lives in London while his parents and sisters travelled from New York to attend! We met up with the boys and took them around the church grounds for a few photographs before the ladies arrived.
first to arrive were the lovely bridesmaids and don’t they look great in the teal gown? followed shortly by Rachael, Rachael and Brent had opted not to use wedding cars a they were only travelling a short distance so a friend stepped in and doesn’t his car look amazing! There was enough tie to get some shots of Rachael in the car with the Dad and a few out side the church with her brides maids before it was time to head in.
The service was really touching and welcoming to all the guests as most of Brent’s family are not Catholic the priest Canon McCrory made everyone feel very welcome. It was a lovely service with lots of personal meaning for the couple.
Following the service we all headed out for the group shot on the steps of the church, This was a bit tricky I had to use my trusty ladder and stand across the road to get the shot. we then headed back inside with the couple to get some great shots inside the church. Including this fantastic one of Rachael back lit with our then very new super light a Genesis GF400 Portable Studio Flash which we had recently purchased from Calumet it really makes all the difference to shots like this 🙂
We then headed off to Millbrook Lodge Hotel, it had been quite a while since we were there and we were looking forward to seeing their new renovated reception rooms. We headed out around the grounds of the hotel with the couple before heading down to the adjacent field where there were 2 lovely chestnut brown horses. The horses after some persuading came over and we got some super shots with them. I think they have a real American home farm feel about them.
It was soon time for dinner an speeches so we all headed in for that. all of the speeches were warm and funny and everyone enjoyed them, it was soon time for dinner and time for us to be heading home.

I don’t think we can say how amazing Graham and Hannah are in this review! But we are so glad we found Graham! We’re not one to pose for photos. Come the wedding day, it felt like a pleasure to have Graham and Hannah at the wedding! Our guests loved them, Graham is fun and enthusiastic, but also discrete!
