Coastal Orange Tree House Wedding: Catherine & Matthew
Catherine and Matthew were the first couple we had the pleasure of photographing at the County Downs Newest wedding Venue Orange Tree house! when they first contacted us about the venue we hadn’t even heard of it but were pleasantly surprised to find them at the Kings Hall Wedding Journal show and meet the lovely folk from there.
We started the day with Catherine and her ladies getting ready at her house. we got some great shots of the dresses and shoes and all the other bits and bobs inculudung these great shots with Scrabo tower in the back ground! We then headed down to get some shots of the girls getting ready before it was time for us to head just around the corner to the church to meet up with Matthew.
We met up with Matthew and the boys at Movilla Abbey Church in Newtownards. We were got some great shots of him casually with the boys before the service and with the guests. We also got some great detail shots of all the fabulous touches that Catherine had arranged. My personal favourites were the handkerchiefs and button holes for guests. what a great idea.
Soon enough it was time for ceremony and Catherine and her ladies arrived. we took some lovely shots of them before they went in for the service. it was a lovely service performed by the local minister who had been a part of Catherine life for many years.
Following the service there was a big surprise for Catherine and Matthew. Catherine mum had arranged for an ice cream van to come to the church and provide the couple and all their guests with an ice cream! We couldn’t resist using this unique back drop for some great shots both of the confetti throw and then with Catherine actually in the van itself.
It was soon time to head off from the church, We had arranged with Catherine and Matthew to take some of their bridal portraits at Grey Abbey, a ruined abbey in the small village of Grey Abbey. So we, the couple and the whole bridal party headed off there while the guests travelled on to Orange Tree House.
We got some great shots of the whole bridal party and then they too headed off for Orange Tree House. We then spent a little while just with the couple getting some shots of them around the ruins, Im not sure which is my favourite I think i Ilke the ones of Catherine sat on the stones best what do you think?
We then headed on to Orange Tree House itself We headed down to the beach and got some great shots of the couple there too before heading back up to get some family shots and a group shot before everyone headed in for dinner.
After everyone was settled in for dinner the speaches began, they were full of emotion and really touching and funny. we managed to get some great shots of both the couple and of their guests during the speaches.
the speaches were folloed by the cutting of the cake and then the band arrived and it was time for the first dance. We stayed around for this and for a few songs just to make sure we captured the party atmospher. It was soon time for us to head off home and leave everyone to dance the night away.

I don’t think we can say how amazing Graham and Hannah are in this review! But we are so glad we found Graham! We’re not one to pose for photos. Come the wedding day, it felt like a pleasure to have Graham and Hannah at the wedding! Our guests loved them, Graham is fun and enthusiastic, but also discrete!
