Alternative Winter Bangor Castle & Orange Tree House Wedding: Andrea & Tim
We had been really looking forward to Andrea and Tim’s wedding since they booked us. We knew right off the bat that their wedding would be totally out of the norm just from our initial conversation with them and we knew they would be having a really alternative winter wedding! …and boy we weren’t disappointed!
We started off with Andrea and her ladies at her home, getting lots of casual laid back shots of the girls getting their hair and make-up done… by their friend and wedding guest, Amy from Vintage Rocks and Uana . Andrea went for a vintage inspired style including her feather hair accessory that Andrea made herself!
We then headed upstairs to get some shots of Andrea’s Dress, Shawl and her Bridesmaids Dress that Andrea had hand made herself. Isn’t it amazing?! Andrea is very crafty and had told us in advance that she had made her own dress and that it would be “different” from what we might be expecting. IT was! it was really lovely and suited her to a T.
We got some great shots of the shoes (boots) and the other little bits and bobs around Andrea’s sewing room before we headed down to get some final shots of the girls, and of course Andrea and Tim’s beloved cats before it was time for us to leave to meet up with Tim and his lads.
We arrived at Bangor Registry office a little before Tim and the Lads arrived so made use of the time by nipping in and getting the shots of the room done before Tim and the lads rolled up in the vintage Marina. We got some casual shots of the guys while the spoke with the registrar before we went out and got some shots of them around the grounds.
Tim and Andrea were breaking with the norm and Tim came out to meet Andrea when she arrived and they then walked in together into their ceremony. They had a lovely ceremony with some really personal readings.
Following the Ceremony we took some time to get some shots of the couple around the grounds before it was time to head off. We made a stop with Andrea and Tim at Grey Abbey. It was somewhere that they had had one of their first few dates and so it was very special to them. We spend a little while in the cemetery outside of the abbey before we went on into the grounds. I just love these shots the light was just so lovely in the late afternoon sun.
We wandered around the grounds of the Abbey for a while getting these absolutely fantastic shouts of the guys before we headed back to the cars and onto Orange Tree house. When we arrived at Orange Tree House we headed down to the beach and got these stunning shots of the guys. I think these might be my favourites of the day!
Once we headed back up to the main buildings at Orange tree there was a little bit of time for the guys to mingle with their guests as we nipped into the reception room and got all the little details that the couple had handmade and ropes all their good friends in to helping them put together.
Andrea and Tim were sure that they wanted their day to be as relaxed as possible so rather than have their speeches out in the conservatory rather than in the main reception room which meant that it was a really relaxed affair. Following Speeches Everyone headed in for dinner and it was time for us to head off home.
