Elegant Country St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church and Darver Castle Wedding: Kathryn & Paul

Kathryn and Paul tied the knot back in August last year, From the moment we met these guys at our little studio we knew that their wedding would be something out of the ordinary. Starting the day in Kircubbin and ending in Darver Castle with a trip on the Strangford Ferry in the middle! We started the day with Kathryn and all her ladies out at her mum and dads house getting these amazing shots of her Ti Adora dress from Cathedral Gowns Downpatrick I just love the this one of it hanging in the hall.  We spend some time getting some relaxed shots of everyone getting their hair done by Joy Martin, and their make up by the fabulous Samantha Weightmann, its always lovely to see Samantha, she is a real pro and great fun to work with in the mornings.  I love Kathryn’s flower from Anita’s Fabulous Flowers choice too, they are just so fitting with her elegant country style wedding theme.  Soon enough though it was time for us to head off to meet the lads at St Mary’s Church, Star of The sea, Kircubbin.

We Arrived at St Mary’s Church, Star of The sea, Kircubbin with a few minutes before the lads were due, so it was just enough time for us to dash in and get these great shots of the Chapel. As we headed out the boys arrived in style in the VW bus from LogyBear Camper Van Car Hire we took the boys off just around the Chapel grounds to get these shots of them, They were such good fun and we had a great laugh with them while we waited for the guests to Arrive.  We got some great candid shots of the Paul with his folks while they were welcoming guests to the service,  I love these sorts of shots i think it gives a great impression of the day.

Soon enough the ladies arrived in their beautiful powder blue gowns. We got some relaxed shots of them in the WV bus and then some at the Chapel Door while we waited for Kathryn and her dad to arrive. All the girls were great sports here as the wind had really picked up by this point and there wasn’t really anywhere to stand out of the wind before everyone headed into the Chapel.  So we quickly got some shots with Kathryn and the girls and Kathryn and her parents and then got into the pourch out of the wind.  the was just enough time for a quick hair and dress fix before the ceremony began.

Following the Mass it was time to hit the road and by road I mean Road and Lough!! it was a short drive down from Kircubbin to Portaferry.  When we arrived we could see the Strangford Ferry on its way across to Strangford so knew we had a couple of mins to get some shots before it arrived back.  So making the most of time the wedding party all got out of the cars and we got these great shots of them down at the quay.  I think these ones of Kathryn sitting on the harbour wall are just stunning. The Ferry arrived back at our side of the water and we all loaded on.  Kathryn and Paul we great sports and we nipped out while we we crossing and got these fab shots of them on the ferry.

We arrived at Darver Castle and hit the ground running with Kathryn and Paul getting all their couple shots done, I just love these shots of Kathryn both in the Castle itself and at the bridge I think she looks absolutely stunning. We got some quick shots of the lovely room before it was time for all the guests to head on in for dinner.  Speeches at Darver castle are always after dinner so we we got some shots of the guests as they sat down and then we ourselves had a wee break.

Following Dinner we got these great photos of the speeches.  While they the lovely folks at Darver turned the room around we took the guys down to back gardens and to the pagoda where Kathryn had placed beautiful jars of Fairy lights, we got these fab shots with them before heading back in for the dancing.  We got these great shots of the party before it was time for us to head off and leave them boogieing on into the night.
