Royal Navy HMS Caroline Wedding: Abi & Barry
Abi & Barry met while both being in the reservists for the Royal Navy, so couldn’t thing of a better place to hold their wedding that the fab HMS Caroline! They had a relaxed day with all their near and dearest first in Donaghadee and then on to Belfast. We started the day with Abi and her family up in her room at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast, We got some great shots of the details and of Abi and her family in the opulence of one of their Victorian Rooms.
Soon Enough though it was time to head off to meet up with Barry at Donaghadee Parish Church, We had a great day even if it was a bit on the windy side it was warm and the sun was out as the guests started to arrive., soon enough Abi and her family arrived in Abi’s own car which i though was a lovely touch. We got some great shots of them arriving before it was time for the Ceremony to get under way.
Abi and Barry chose to walk in to the Church together so once everyone was inside Barry came out to meet Abi in the lobby of the church we got this really lovely moment between the two of them before the music started and the service was under way. the Rev Iain Gamble a Navy Chaplin and a good friend of the couple, Himself performed the ceremony and it was really lovely. including lots of little details about the couple and life in the Navy reservists.
Following the Ceremony the couple came out to a Guard of honour which made for some great shots of the couple before we jumped in the cars and headed down to the Pier in Donaghdee. We got some great shots there with the boats and the Lighthouse in the background although we decided it was too windy to make the walk all the way along to the light house itself. so we dashed back to cars and headed off to Belfast and the HMS Caroline.
We arrived at the Ship which is docked at titanic quarter just behind the Museum and while Barry changed into his evening dress uniform we took Abi for some shots around the ship. Once Barry was back we got some great shots of them together in the truly unique setting of HMS Caroline.
We snuck into the reception room to get all the little detail shots and to get a shot of the cake, we headed quickly back out to get a ground shot of everyone before it was time for dinner and for us to leave everyone in the capable hands of the French Village Catering team.
