About the Barn
The BARN is a haven for animals in need of rescue and adoption. We promote animal welfare within Northern Ireland, we rescue and re-home. We look after rescued cats and dogs and also have dogs with permanent residency who found their forever home here at the BARN. The BARN operates a ‘no kill’ policy and we will not put to sleep a healthy animal. We’re really excited about our 2023 rescue dog & cat calendar and proud to be working with well known local pet photographer Graham Crichton. We’re looking for dog and cat models for our calendar, and for £35 you can have your pet photographed by Graham with a chance of your pet appearing in our calendar! You’ll get a complimentary printed photograph of your favourite picture too… oh and £50 credit to spend on one of Graham’s beautiful wall portraits!
About the Photographer
Throughout time, stories have been told. We see them told generation after generation. We see ourselves as storytellers. Since Graham started taking photographs in 2005, we have told thousands of stories. We started off with small beginnings in a spare room at Graham’s house, originally photographing weddings and engagements. We opened our first portrait studio in 2015 at the historic Portview Trade Centre. It was small, it was cramped, but it was ours. In that time, we captured so many stories of families, people and their pets. In 2022, we took the plunge and moved from our little studio to the now current location. Investing nearly £100,000, our dedicated people & pet photography space now allows for an even better customer experience. It’s much bigger, but we haven’t forgotten where we came from. Our story is unique to us, but your story is the one that matters. We have the capability to print your images in-house. This is why we take great pride in our digital print lab, housing the very best printing industry equipment. This investment produces results that we and our clients can be proud of for generations to come. We don’t produce photographs, we produce heirlooms. We have grown to become one of Northern Ireland’s leading people & pet portrait studios – thanks to our customers and their trust in us to tell their stories – Beautifully. Timelessly.
Most Asked Questions
So how does this work?
We have teamed up with The Barn Animal Rescue to produce their official 2023 charity calendar. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go to the Barn. We are giving people the chance for their cat or dog to feature in the calendar when they book a pet portrait session with us. You will come to our studio and have your pet photographed and then come back to see your pictures. You will receive a complimentary 7″ printed photo of your favourite picture and have a chance to order any others that you like. We will then choose 12 dogs and 12 cats from all those that have entered to be in the calendar.
But my pet won’t sit!
As your pet will be being photographed, your pet will need to obey basic commands such as wait, stay and sit. This experience is not suitable to pets who will not sit or may find the experience stressful. It also requires a reasonable amount of mobility by the owner to handle their pet.
‘I love all the pictures! Can I order more?’
You sure can! We find that once our clients see the pictures we take they just love them so much. We offer a range of products starting from £95. We also give you £50 credit that you can put towards any of our beautiful wall frames.
I’ve more than one pet!
We love doing shoots with furry families too! We include one pet in the cost of your session, however additional pets may be added too for an additional fee.
I want to buy the calendar! When is it out?
The calendar will be available to purchase from the middle of November. It will be available from The Barn Shop in Newtownards and Ballywalter, from Graham Crichton Photography studio and from a selection of vets and shops.
